| Leadership Programmes with a Difference.
At face value what on earth does leadership development and natural horsemanship have in common? But look a little closer and the parallels between the qualities of a true leader and the qualities of natural horsemanship are remarkable.
EBM has developed a partnership with In Clover, a specialist training and development company, and together have created an original and inspiring approach to corporate development.
Interacting with horses has established a powerful, challenging and rewarding contact in which to improve leadership skills. Most importantly the lessons learnt are both transferable and sustainable within the working environment. Owner/Rider Help
Having tried to see through the horses eyes for a number of years, I became conscious of the fact that we as humans also have dips in our confidence levels, whether it is handling, riding or competing our horses. To enable me to help the owner to the best of my ability I decided to continue studying and consequently became qualified in Clinical Hypnotherapy (approved by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council) , also having diplomas in Sports Psychology from the Natural School of Health Sciences in London and Peak Performance Coaching from Stonebridge College Associates. I am continuing to study Life Skills coaching with the aim that I am able to provide a “one stop shop” for both horse and owner.
Please also see the Hypnotherapy page for further information.
My involvement on the corporate level also allows me to expand my knowledge alongside two NLP Practitioners.
Clinical Hypnotherapy (For Humans)
Definition: Hypnotherapy utilises a very natural and yet very powerful state of relaxation. This enables the subconscious mind to be more receptive to positive suggestions helping to remove inner blockages and allow for a process of change.
From an equine perspective : Anxious, nervous horse owner/rider or want to be a peak performer?
The more relaxed you are on and off your horse, the better your horse will respond. By letting go of anxiety, enjoying handling and riding your horse, improving concentration and confidence you will be able to have a more pleasurable equine experience. This in turn will allow you to achieve your goals whether it is feeling self-assured about leading your horse in hand, going out for a safe, quiet hack or competing at an advanced level.
Hypnosis is a very powerful tool used to make suggestions to our subconscious mind, resulting in positive change in our lives.
By doing this we are able to gain new perspectives on our problem/s. We are also able to tap into our inner resources from our subconscious, to help resolve issues.
Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years and is a highly effective & safe tool, which benefits people the world over.
Being an equine behaviourist and also qualified hypnotherapist I am able to understand all the issues you may face with your horse, your riding and yourself. This enables us to work together with your horse using natural horsemanship techniques to resolve a specific issue or maybe just to build a better relationship with him. Also, conducting separate sessions for the owner using hypnotherapy to resolve any barriers or anxieties you may experience.
Combining these techniques will without doubt be of great benefit to all riders.
Hypnotherapy for other reasons: Hypnotherapy can be successfully used for a number of different reasons – weight loss, non-smoking, confidence, stress, anxiety or purely for relaxation purposes and can be done (depending on the matter) on an individual or group basis. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements.
Misconceptions about hypnosis: The hypnotist cannot make you do or say anything during a session or afterwards which is unacceptable to you.
You will remember everything that happened in hypnosis (unless you choose otherwise)
You are always in control. Because you are in a relaxed state, you are actually more in control of your thoughts, as your mind is free of that 24 hour “chatter”.
You can choose to return from hypnosis at any time
Hypnosis is not dangerous. If it were, we would know about it, as we would have to tell ourselves not to slip into another state of consciousness, not to day dream, not to concentrate deeply and not to become totally absorbed in things of a compelling nature.
